About the Role

What if your perfect ear for French and obsession with precision could directly shape how AI understands spoken language? We're looking for meticulous French Audio Transcript Editors based in Casablanca and across Morocco to review, clean up, and correct audio transcripts — ensuring every word, timestamp, and formatting detail is exactly right.

Morocco's strong francophone tradition and Casablanca's large, highly educated workforce make this region a compelling source of French language expertise. Your familiarity with both formal French and the diverse spoken registers common across North Africa gives you a distinctive edge on these projects.

This is a fully remote, flexible contract role. No prior AI experience needed — just native-level or near-native French, strong listening skills, and a commitment to precision.

  • Organization: Alignerr
  • Type: Hourly Contract
  • Location: Remote
  • Commitment: 10–40 hours/week

What You'll Do

  • Listen to French audio recordings and compare them against existing transcripts
  • Identify and correct errors in spelling, word choice, punctuation, and speaker attribution
  • Ensure word-level accuracy and precise timing alignment throughout each transcript
  • Apply detailed style and formatting guidelines consistently across all assignments
  • Flag unclear or ambiguous audio segments and document them according to project standards
  • Work with annotation platforms and transcript editing tools to deliver polished output
  • Complete task-based assignments independently on your own schedule

Who You Are

  • Native or near-native French speaker with an excellent ear for spoken French across accents, registers, and speaking speeds — including North African and Maghrebi French varieties
  • Exceptionally detail-oriented — you catch the small errors others miss
  • Comfortable working with word-level accuracy and exact timing in transcripts
  • Able to follow detailed style guides and formatting rules with precision and consistency
  • Strong listening comprehension, even with challenging audio quality or overlapping speakers
  • Self-motivated, reliable, and comfortable working independently
  • No prior AI or tech experience required

Nice to Have

  • Experience as a transcriptionist, court reporter, or stenographer
  • Background in subtitle editing, closed-captioning, or media localization
  • Training or experience in linguistics, phonetics, or language sciences
  • Prior work with annotation platforms, data labeling tools, or transcript editing software
  • Familiarity with Moroccan French alongside other French-speaking regional accents and dialects
  • Experience in translation, proofreading, or editorial quality assurance

Why Join Us

  • Work on cutting-edge AI projects alongside leading research labs
  • Fully remote and flexible — work when and where it suits you
  • Freelance autonomy with the structure of meaningful, detail-rich work
  • Contribute to AI development that directly improves how technology processes spoken French
  • Sharpen your transcription and editorial skills on diverse, real-world audio content
  • Potential for ongoing work and contract extension as new projects launch
