Opportunity Overview
Handshake is recruiting 3D artists with experience in 3D modeling and creation tools such as Blender to contribute to an AI research project. In this project, you’ll apply your expertise to help improve how AI understands real-world professional tasks within your domain, such as 3D modeling, texturing, rigging, animation, and rendering. This is an ongoing, project-based opportunity you can take on alongside your current role.
What You’ll Do
- Use your 3D modeling experience to create tasks that today’s top AI models can’t solve based on real workflows, such as modeling, UV unwrapping, texturing and shading, rigging, animation, lighting, rendering, and asset export
- Review and evaluate AI-generated responses
- Provide clear, structured written feedback to help improve AI model performance
- Work remotely and complete tasks at your own pace, with no set schedule or minimum hour requirement
Qualifications
- Degree: Completed Bachelor’s degree or higher
- Tool experience: At least 2 years of work experience using Blender
Additional qualifications (not required, but strengthen your application)
- Experience across multiple 3D tools or disciplines, such as sculpting (ZBrush), texturing (Substance Painter), other 3D software (Maya, 3ds Max, Cinema 4D), game engines (Unity, Unreal, Godot), or Python scripting in Blender
- Professional experience at an animation studio, game studio, or visual effects, product visualization, or architectural visualization firm, or a portfolio of published or shipped 3D work
Required for all applicants
- Must have US work authorization
- Strong written communication and attention to detail
- Ability to explain complex 3D modeling concepts clearly
- Ability to work independently in a remote, asynchronous environment
