Music Content Analyst - AI Trainer

Overview

Handshake AI is seeking detail-oriented Music Content Analysts (Fellows) to support the development and evaluation of AI systems that process and understand music. This role is ideal for individuals with formal education in music or professional experience as a musician who have strong listening skills and a deep understanding of musical structure and vocal performance.

What you’ll do:

Lyric Review & Song Structure: Verify and correct lyrics for accuracy in wording, phrasing, and structure, while classifying each excerpt into its proper song section (verse, chorus, bridge, etc.).

Vocal Analysis: Identify the number of singers in each track and determine the gender of each vocalist based on the audio.

The position is remote and asynchronous - work independently from wherever you are.

Flexible hours and the ability to work remotely, with a commitment of approximately 10 to 20 hours per week.

Project work includes and is not limited to developing domain-specific prompts and evaluating LLM responses.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s students and graduates in Music, Music Theory, or Music Composition or related field of study

Professional experience as a performing, recording, or touring musician.

Strong ear for pitch, harmony, vocal layering, and arrangement.

Familiarity with common song structures across genres.

High attention to detail and ability to work independently.

This program is open to U.S.-based students, candidates, and recent graduates with valid work or training authorization (e.g., F-1/OPT, J-1, H-1B). Participants are responsible for ensuring compliance with their visa conditions and confirming eligibility with their program or visa sponsor prior to applying.

F-1 students who are eligible for CPT or OPT may be eligible for projects on Handshake AI. Work with your Designated School Official to determine your eligibility.  If your school requires a CPT course, Handshake AI may not meet your school’s requirements. STEM OPT is not supported.
