About the Opportunity
Handshake AI is seeking participants for a paid, in-person research study in New York to help researchers improve hand- and wrist-tracking technology so it works well across a wide range of people.
No technical experience or specialized skills are required. During the session, you'll work one-on-one with a researcher who will guide you through a series of simple hand poses and wrist movements while collecting your feedback.
What You'll Do
Participate in an in-person research session with a researcher
Complete a series of simple hand and wrist movement activities using prototype technology
Share your experience and feedback throughout the session
Receive guidance and support from the research team during the study
Study Details
Pay: $120 for completing the session
Location: Hudson Yards, New York
Dates: Aug 4, 2026 – Aug 31, 2026. Select your available weeks in the interest form, and our team will follow up to schedule your specific date and time.
Duration: Up to 3 hours
Qualifications
Able to attend an in-person session in Hudson Yards, New York
Comfortable completing a short screening questionnaire
No prior experience or technical background required

Because this research depends on a physically diverse group of participants, the form includes questions about your background and certain physical characteristics (such as wrist size). Every question explains why the information is being requested.
Participation is completely voluntary and will not affect your eligibility for future Handshake AI projects.
If you're selected, we'll send you a full consent form with complete study details, including exactly what information will be collected, before you decide whether to participate.
Work authorization information
F-1 students who are eligible for CPT or OPT may be eligible for projects on Handshake AI. Work with your Designated School Official to determine your eligibility. If your school requires a CPT course, Handshake AI may not meet your school’s requirements. STEM OPT is not supported.
