Role overview
Mercor is hiring power systems engineers with recent hands-on industry experience to review and annotate complex electrical engineering tasks. You will assess realistic design and study scenarios and produce clear written technical findings.
What you will do
Review tasks across substation design, transmission design, and generation interconnection: circuit and control design, switchgear and protection, single-line diagrams, and power distribution
Check engineering assumptions, calculations, code and standards use, and equipment data
Flag ambiguity, missing constraints, and unrealistic deliverables
Produce clear written findings
Requirements
Recent hands-on experience as a power systems professional in one or more of: substation design, transmission design, or generation interconnection. This is mandatory.
Minimum 1 year of relevant industry experience
Circuit design depth: protection and controls, switchgear, power distribution, and the associated calculations
Experience at an EPC contractor, utility, transmission owner, power generation developer, ISO/RTO, or owner's engineering group
Your resume should clearly show relevant power systems experience

Approximately 10 to 20 hours per week initially
