About the Role
We're looking for professionals with deep, hands-on experience doing the analytical and decision-making work at the core of finance — the modeling, diligence, valuation, and judgment calls that sit behind real capital, risk, and reporting decisions. You'll design realistic, complex scenarios from your own practice area, build the supporting materials (models, memos, filings, data), then author and evaluate finance tasks used to train AI agents. This is authoring and judgment work, not throughput.
Priority Areas — we are hiring hardest here
- Investment Banking & M&A: valuation (DCF, comps, precedent transactions, LBO), deal execution, fairness analysis, merger models, and diligence
- Private Equity & Private Credit: underwriting, LBO modeling, capital structure, covenant analysis, and portfolio-company work
- Corporate Finance & FP&A: three-statement modeling, forecasting and budgeting, variance analysis, capital allocation, and board/management reporting
Also In Scope
- Equity and credit research, buy-side and sell-side coverage
- Asset and wealth management, portfolio construction, and manager selection
- Quantitative finance, risk management (market, credit, liquidity), and derivatives pricing
- Treasury, capital markets, and corporate development
- Financial modeling and technical accounting where it drives valuation or reporting judgment (US GAAP / IFRS)
- Real estate, infrastructure, and project finance
- Regulatory and compliance work in finance (Basel, SEC/regulatory reporting, capital adequacy)
Requirements
- 3+ years of substantive, recent, hands-on finance experience at a recognized institution (investment bank, asset manager, PE/credit fund, Big Four, a large corporate finance function, or a financial regulator), and currently working in the field
- Direct experience with the tools this work runs on — Excel/financial modeling, and where relevant Bloomberg/Capital IQ/FactSet, data rooms, ERP/consolidation systems, or quant/risk platforms
- A 10+ hrs/week commitment
What Makes a Strong Candidate
We are looking for people who can construct a complicated problem, not people who process volume. The strongest signals are evidence of owning analysis and decisions: building the model that drove a live deal or investment decision, leading diligence, defending a valuation or recommendation to an investment committee or client, owning a forecast and reporting cycle, structuring a financing, or writing the memo others relied on. Within any competency we prefer the senior end (VP, Director, Principal, Managing Director, Portfolio Manager, Controller, CFO), and experience across two or more disciplines — or on both the buy side and sell side — is a strong plus. An advanced degree (MBA, MS, PhD) and/or a recognized credential (CFA, CPA, FRM, actuarial designation) is preferred, not required.
Settings
Not bulge-bracket only. Also boutique and middle-market advisory, PE/VC/credit funds, hedge funds and asset managers, corporate finance and treasury functions, family offices, insurers, banks and lenders, fintech, and financial regulators.
