We're running a paid study on PC hardware compatibility and system configuration choices. Understanding how experienced builders spot component mismatches helps improve automated compatibility checkers and build guides. We are evaluating real-world component lists to see how human experts handle edge cases like clearance issues, power constraints, and motherboard chipset limitations.
You will be provided with several custom PC build component lists to evaluate during an online session. For each build, you will check the parts for physical and technical compatibility, noting any potential bottlenecks or missing requirements. You will then explain your reasoning and suggest alternative components if necessary. The session will involve screen-sharing as you navigate technical specifications and document your findings.
We are looking for PC hardware enthusiasts, system integrators, and IT technicians who have hands-on experience building custom computers. You should be highly familiar with current CPU sockets, motherboard form factors, RAM clearances, and GPU power requirements. We welcome hobbyist builders, professional system integrators, computer repair technicians, and hardware reviewers.
