Core Staff Engineer (San Francisco)

What We're Looking For
8+ years building production systems, with real ownership of architecture and delivery
4+ years of React experience and a deep understanding of React's rendering model
Backend depth: Python and Django, PostgreSQL, APIs, schema evolution, background jobs, concurrency, and third-party integrations
Full-stack range: comfort with browser failures, API contracts, and end-to-end workflows
Cloud and security: production AWS, infrastructure as code, IAM, observability, incident response, and safe deploys
Modernization proof: you have simplified a live system and can show measurable reliability or speed gains
Nice to have
Experience working with inline styles backed by a shared design token system (not Tailwind or CSS modules)
Skills & Capabilities
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Strong analytical mindset with a bias toward data-driven decision-making
Comfortable operating in ambiguity and structuring problems from scratch
Hands-on leadership: you code, review, debug, mentor, and partner clearly with founders, product, and operations
