This is a pilot project with strong potential for long-term collaboration. You'll be reviewing AI-generated translations of medical text from English into Yoruba, identifying errors, and providing corrected, clinically accurate alternatives. Your work directly contributes to safer, more effective AI tools for healthcare in West Africa. This project is conducted in partnership with a leading LLM research lab developing next-generation medical AI systems.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Review and evaluate English-to-Yoruba medical text translations (360 entries in the pilot) Identify linguistic, clinical, and cultural inaccuracies in AI-generated outputs Provide corrected translations with annotations where appropriate Flag ambiguous or untranslatable medical terminology with suggested alternatives Maintain consistent use of established Yoruba medical vocabulary IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS Currently enrolled as a senior medical student (Year 4+ or equivalent) at an accredited institution; Native Yoruba speaker with strong written and spoken proficiency; Strong English proficiency (medical reading level); Familiarity with standard medical terminology in both languages; Detail-oriented with the ability to work to tight deadlines WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE All 360 translation entries reviewed and corrected within the agreed timeline; High inter-annotator agreement with fellow reviewers (>85%); Corrections are clinically accurate and reflect natural, idiomatic Yoruba; Timely communication and availability during the one-week pilot window CONTRACT & PAYMENT TERMS
