We're running a paid study on the decision-making process behind online flipping and second-hand retail. Our goal is to understand how experienced buyers evaluate the trustworthiness and potential profit margin of used items. Your insights will help us identify the key visual and data signals that make a listing viable for resale.
You will review eight real second-hand item listings during an independent task. Each listing will include reference data showing what the same item typically resells for on the open market. You will then rate each listing based on how trustworthy it appears and whether you would personally buy it to resell. The entire session is conducted asynchronously online and requires you to provide brief feedback on your choices.
We are looking for active participants in the second-hand market who regularly buy items to resell for profit. You should have a strong eye for identifying market value, spotting potential scams, and assessing item condition from online listings. We welcome full-time flippers, vintage curators, side-hustle resellers, and online marketplace veterans.
